Made In USA

For the longest time, our seasoned tailors have been creating the finest handmade men’s and women's custom clothing available. Alexander Nash Custom has long since expanded to also include women’s custom suits in NYC.

Each Alexander Nash Custom client can be assured that all garments will be specifically created with her individual preferences in mind.

The Custom Suit Process at Alexander Nash

The experience begins with a visit to our Manhattan showroom. One of our experienced sales associates will help guide you through every step of the fitting and fabric selection process. Then, once our fitter (who understands the key differences in fit and function between a women’s custom suit and a man’s) has met with you and measurements have been taken, it is time to select the fabrics that most appeal to you. We are very pleased to present a selection of the finest fabrics available, sourced from the world’s very best luxury mills including Scabal, Dormeuil, Ermenegildo Zegna and Loro Piana. At this stage, to best ensure a perfect custom fit, we offer a feature that is especially significant to our female clientele. It is, in fact, the most important element of a true custom garment the basted fitting. This is the step that sets Alexander Nash Custom suits for women apart from the rest. The basted fitting occurs once the fabric you have selected has been hand cut and temporarily stitched together with white thread. When you try the garment on at this point you have the opportunity to judge its look and fit. The fact that your suit is only ‘basted’ allows it to be changed to any extent you like. For example, you may want to narrow or widen the shoulders and lapels, make the garment tighter or looser in the chest, the sleeves or even the thighs and shorten or lengthen the hemline.

*Basted Fitting - A basted fitting is when you try on your custom suit jacket that has been temporarily stitched together with white basting thread. Initial measurements that were carefully taken during your first fitting were used to create this “working” jacket. We then use this jacket to fine tune the fitting.
